Over time even stainless steel and aluminium components get affected by salt water. Therefore after holidays in salt water please put the POWER.XT into a bucket full of sweet water. 

Once or twice a year you should give your POWER.XT the following special treatment: 

• Hose down your POWER.XT with a hard water jet and then let it dry well (e.g. put it on the heater for 1 day).
• Now turn the POWER.XT upside-down.
• Get Silicone spay and spray it into the gaps inbetween the black bars, the clamping wheel and the big lever. Move the ratchet and repeat spraying several times. This way the oil gets onto the axle.
• All moving parts on the big lever should be sprayed as well.
• Finally wipe the POWER.XT clean with a cloth to remove all excess oil. Especially the teeth of the clamping wheel and the standard cleat must be free of oil.

Attention: Do NOT attempt to disassemble the POWER.XT by removing the axle bolt! Without detailed instructions, this will most likely result in the loss of parts risking to destroy the function of your POWER.XT.
